Overall, young leaves and immature Moringa oleifera pods have been established to be a good source of both micro and macronutrients and low in nutrients.

Although the nutrients are somewhat reduced by boiling and cooking in water, significant amounts are retained, and serving young leaves and immature pods as a vegetable flavor can greatly improve the nutritional status of those suffering from malnutrition.
